I am an American painter living in Berlin, Germany. This website is an archive from my decade long work as a commerical and fine-art photographer. I am now a painter and you can visit my work at www.stinamallet.com.

Since 2019, I have participated in Berlin-Lichtenberg’s Lange Nacht Der Bilder. In 2021, I was represented in the UnBlock Fair Art Fair. In 2023, I taught a Masterclass for the Berlin based SocialArtLab via invitation.

My work has been featured by The Moon Cheese Curator, Paris Collage Collective, Studio ID Collective, Photo Trouvée Magazine, and Collage Worldwide. My work has been published by Bekking & Blitz Publishing in the Netherlands .

I work out of a private studio in the artist collective Studios-ID in the eastern reaches of Berlin, in a former DDR exclusion zone. My painting process starts with the drawing and redrawing of source images from my extensive collection of negatives and photographs. This includes images from my childhood collection, as well as photographs of strangers in found photographs or historical archives. I am drawn to the stories photographs hold, some are true and some are figments of my imagination. My drawings of these images are a reinvention, and the results give my painted characters, including myself, a new life, persona.
